Tree Streets Neighborhood

Johnson City, Tennessee • Southside Neighborhood Organization

Lee Jondahl passed away suddenly but peacefully yesterday, April 7. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  From the time he moved into the Tree Streets he, along with his wife, Mary Lee, volunteered countless hours for the betterment of our neighborhood and the Southside Neighborhood Organization.  Lee also served on numerous committees for the city and was well respected.  He had a green thumb and at the time of his passing had many flats of seedlings sprouting for this years garden.  Lee moved here from Virginia and in the short time he was here he made a big impact on the neighborhood.  Keep him in your memory and help Mary Lee at this most difficult time.

Kathy: Thanks for this update. I was not aware. I'm glad I got to meet Lee and to know him just a little bit over these past few months. Is there anything specific that we can do to help Mary Lee?
I think we just need to keep an eye out for her and spend time with her.  It's going to be very lonely for her once the family goes home.  She and Lee were always together.  I know Lee loved gardening and he is going to be damn mad if Mary Lee kills his seedlings for the garden.  I know one neighbor already called to remind her  to water and care for them.

What a terrible loss for us all. Lee was the real deal. Solid, stoic, intelligent and passionate about his neighborhood and community. He'll definitely be missed. He was always there. Pushing to get things done and making sure there were done correctly.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Mary Lee and the family.
