Tree Streets Neighborhood

Johnson City, Tennessee • Southside Neighborhood Organization

Hello!

We are a young family moving to W. Pine this summer.  We are excited to be joining the neighborhood, don't really know anyone in the area, and would love to meet some good folks.  We are moving from a small farm in WNC and are sad to be leaving it behind.  We have been keeping a large organic "market garden" for the last few years, and would love to get involved in the community garden (the photos are beautiful by the way).  We keep chickens now and realize that our feathered friends can't come with us, but I am wondering if there are any reasons why we wouldn't be able to bring our rabbit hutch (our 4 yr old would be really sad if "Sleeping Beauty" and "Pickles" couldn't come with us :)  We would consider ourselves to be on the "alternative" end of the spectrum, and are really hoping that we can find a community that will embrace that.  I must admit that we have been a bit weary, but the JC NPR station is the BEST, so we know that our folks are out there!  The nieghborhood seems wonderful, and we are looking very forward to meeting all of our nieghbors! - The Lambs (Emily, Mike, Ruthie & Saro)

Welcome Lamb Family!

E-mail me privately at jodisno@gmail.com so we can get in touch.  We'd love to do a little story about you all in our next neighborhood newsletter where we always feature a new neighbor.  And please come to our next neighborhood meeting -the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. down that the Holston Conference Center on the corner (roughly) of Maple and Buffalo.  We'd all love to meet you!

So hope you have kept up with C.O.O.P as we are trying for legally keeping urban chickens.  And come on down to the garden site on W. Pine And Spring on the third saturdays of each month and meet some of the gardeners.  I live up on Hoover #602 so if you are walking around and see my car in the 'drive' (my gravel space) come on up and knock.  i work during the week but on most sunny days can be found puttering around in my gardens.

Welcome Lamb Family:  Jeff Estes and I are the "WELCOME COMMITTEE", and we will be by to see you and bring some things to tell you about City services, such as garbage pick up, and what to put where .(Garbage goes on the alley, recycling on the street) etc.  I wanted to say that my next door neighbor kept a rabbit  in a hutch in the back yard,  THe key is keeping it very clean, and  safe from dogs., The no ask, no tell is a good policy here also.  We have a lot of little brown bunnies who live here, just wild in the area, and I  see them every day  when I walk. My email is wandabuda@yahoo.com.  Looking forward to seeing you. Wanda

So glad you are coming!  My children and I live on Maple St. and are into organic gardening and urban farming.  My e-mail is rossa@etsu.edu.  We look forward to meeting you!
