When Mary Lee Jondahl's husband passed away lots of extended family came to stay with her.  I made some chilli and took it over to help feed the crowd.  Today Mary Lee called to say she was coming over to return my dishes.  When I told her there was no hurry, she said, "Well by gosh and sakes Betty Ann, half the dishes in the Tree Streets are in my kitchen!  People need their dishes."  I got this mental picture of Mary Lee's kitchen stacked high with piles of dishes. while half of the people in the Tree Streets were eating off paper plates.  It made me smile and be comforted to live in a neighborhood where people cared so much about one another.
