Tree Streets Neighborhood

Johnson City, Tennessee • Southside Neighborhood Organization

The website says *when* they are (third Mondays) but doesn't say where.

I have an old sign in my basement that suggests that they used to be held at Montrose Court, but I have no idea if that is still the case or if we meet in Mr. Phipps' smoking lounge or what.

Any assistance would be deeply appreciated.

Our February Meeting has a new location: Italian Pizza Pub, the Pub out Back (807 Walnut Street). The current plan will be to rotate locations to various local businesses to support and see new places close to our community. So be sure to follow us on Instagram or Facebook for location updates!

The meeting is tomorrow, February 20th, at 6pm (doors open at 5:30pm), and you'll arrive at Italian Pizza Pub and enter the back door on the right side of the building. IPP will not be serving pizza, but will be running the taps for some pours of beers to those who'd like to have a beverage.

On the agenda for Monday's meeting:

  • 2023 budget approval
  • Kick off of SNO's new Community Outreach Committee with a drive for Tri-Cities Mutual Aid
  • Julia Turpin, a tree streets neighbor and Director of the Johnson City Public Library, will join to discuss 2023's library happenings and how SNO can be supportive. Come to learn more about a neighbor and one of our area's best community resources!

We will also look at the bylaws and present a change to allow non-homeowner residents to become SNO members and therefore, part of the voting body of our community. This is an effort to be more inclusive with our diverse neighborhood and allow everyone to feel included in making the decisions for our entire neighborhood's benefit. This will be proposed and open for discussion, and then voted on in the March meeting.

If you are a current committee chair and would like for us to seek replacement in 2023, please reach out to me directly. By March, I want to have all lists of committee chairs up to date.

As always, your input and ideas as we begin this year of events and neighborhood engagement are vital. As president, my number one goal is to keep our neighborhood active, engaged in Johnson City matters on a greater scale, and a welcoming place for all. All are welcome at the meeting, so please consider coming and bringing a neighbor!

Feel free to contact me directly anytime at southside.neighborhood.pres@gmail.com

See you (tomorrow) Monday!
