Hey everyone. The Oaks Castle is back in play and we hope SNO is still interested in it becoming a community asset.
A consortium of organizations, individuals, city government, and businesses is being formed to see the dream of making it a community arts center, botanical garden and events venue through. So far Create Appalachia. Imagine Johnson City, Johnson City Arts Council, Washington County Development, and others have agreed to participate in the consortium, and we are asking other groups that wish to participate to join us. We have a local bank willing to work with us on getting the ownership of the castle transferred to Johnson City from Minnesota which will make it possible to raise the money over time without fear of it being purchased before we meet our goal.
