Event Description

Monthly SNO Meeting will be via Zoom.

It has been great to be able to meet in Veteran's Park for our monthly meetings, but it is now too dark at 7PM so we are moving our meetings to Zoom.

This month the nominating committee will present their candidates for SNO president, vice president, archivist, treasurer, and secretary.  At the November meeting we will vote on these candidates.  You need to be current on your dues to be able to vote.  Our treasurer, Sam Pettyjohn, has a mailbox in front of his house at 700 W. Pine Street just for SNO business.  You can drop off a check or cash ($15 per household) along with your contact info so we know who it is from or you can use the membership form from the last newsletter.

I have invited all the candidates for the Johnson City Commission to attend our Zoom meeting this month and tell us why they decided to run for a seat on the commission.  If you would like to hear from the candidates and have any questions, please be sure to attend.  There are 7 candidates running for 3 available seats:

  • Joe Wise
  • Debbie Harley-McClaskey
  • W. Turney Williams
  • Aaron T. Murphy
  • Jeff Clark
  • William Bud Hill Jr.
  • Todd Fowler
  • Kyle J. Beagle
  • Alona Norwood

How to Zoom

Participating in the Zoom Meeting
  • If you have not used Zoom before, you will need to download the application (app) on to your desktop/phone/tablet. Do this. https://zoom.us/
  • When it is time for the meeting, you just click:
    https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86939625913?pwd=UTZNcFp3V2dVcDVxVDhsNGJ3WVZjUT09
  • Everyone will be muted upon entry to the meeting.
  • If you have a question, go ahead and unmute yourself if the time is right, otherwise, you can ask a general question in the chat feature or "raise your hand". Chatting or raising your hand works best as it helps avoid folks talking over one another inadvertently.
  • If you have a good question or comment for everyone that's not immediately important, the chat feature works great, and when it makes sense in the meeting, one of the hosts can bring it up or ask for the entire group.

We will hear from the JC Commission candidates first, and then when that part of the meeting is over, we can hear from the nominating committee and discuss any other issues that need to be addressed.  Please let me know before Monday if you have anything to add to the agenda.

If you need help, or have any questions, please contact me at karynsno@gmail.com before the meeting Monday night.
